Ethyl Glucuronide (EtG)

EtG is a non-oxidative metabolite of ethanol, formed by the detoxifying pathway of alcohol elimination via conjugation with activated glucuronic acid and represents about 0.5% of total ethanol elimination. EtG has been proposed as a marker of recent ethanol intake in a variety of clinical and legal settings. EtG has no cross reactivity to EtS.

Low False Negatives

EtG latex-enhanced immunoturbidimetric assay has 100% negative agreement based on a cut off of 500 ng/mL ethyl glucuronide, reducing the incidence of false negative results.

Excellent Marker of Ethanol Intake

EtG has been proposed as a marker of recent ethanol intake in a variety of clinical and legal settings. In extreme cases the window of detection in urine could be up to 80 hours.

Unrivalled Expertise

We offer unrivalled expertise in reagent optimisation, facilitating exceptional laboratory performance on a range of clinical chemistry analysers.

Highly Sensitive and Accurate

This EtG latex-enhanced immunoturbidimetric assay has an excellent 98% correlation with LCMS/MS, ensuring highly accurate results from the initial toxicology screen.
