Bath Salts (Mephedrone/Methcathinone)

Methcathinone is a psychotropic phenylalkylamine derivative which can cause hallucinations, fever, tachycardia, brachycardia, neurotoxic effects and convulsions. Mephedrone is a synthetic cathinone derivative sold as a white powder which produces stimulant effects likened to amphetamine. Synthetic drugs like Mephedrone are often sold as “bath salts” or “research chemicals” and are legal and widely available in many countries. The physical effects of mephedrone may include nose-bleeds, dilated pupils, blurred vision, thirst, erratic heartbeat or muscular tension in the jaw and limbs. The mental effects can include ‘head rushes’, euphoria, time distortions and even hallucinations.
